- 29. Using that stake to form what will be the back when the form gets closed up.
- 30. The form is now ready to close up.
- 31. Closing up the form.
- 32. Ready to silver-solder the seam.
- 33. After soldering and pickling, almost all done.
- 34. Done, with a liver of sulfur patina. I don't know why the eye areas went blue-black while the rest did not, but I think it was a very happy accident.
- 35. View of the back, showing the silver-soldered seam, left open at both ends for ventilation.
- 36. Back view of the assembled piece, there is a bar near the bottom with two rubber bumpers to hold it solidly against the wall so pulling on the chain won't move the whole thing.
- 37. Showing how the bell is attached, with custom made extra-thick brass washer that has been filed to match the contours of the inside of the head that it fits against.
- 38. The finished piece, with a good view of the mechanism.
