- 44. Raising a ring. This is the first time I've ever tried this, so I don't know if it will work.
- 45. Continuing with the raising, so far so good.
- 46. The outer part has been brought around nearly 180°.
- 47. Getting close to where it needs to be. Ready to be annealed.
- 48. A new tool I made for the next step.
- 49. Using the tool from the previous image to push the metal further down all the way around.
- 50. Still a little rough, but it's the right shape.
- 28. Now on Part Two, making the hat, which is also the handle. Here is the piece of brass sheet cut out and annealed.
- 29. Starting the outward curve on the sand bag.
- 30. Rounding it over on the raising stake.
- 31. More forming of the cone.
- 33. Heavy planishing, stretching the outside of the curve to increase the curvature.
- 34. Time to anneal.
- 35. Back to more heavy planishing.
- 36. Using a little more force to achieve a tighter curve.
