6. More forming to get the curve correct.
6. Using the hydraulic press to push out the ears.
9. The raising completed, it's been annealed again, and now I'm using the hydraulic press to bulge it out from the inside, in this picture, for the tail.
4. I didn't get pictures of a lot of the earliest forming. All the pointed parts have been formed, using the technique shown in picture #7. Here I am using the ball stake shown in the inset to round out the body.

1. Scrap of 16 gauge brass, this one is almost symmetrical. I immediately thought of an animal.

7. Third stage of raising completed. To be annealed again.
15. Closing up the longer spiculum shape.
25. More hammering to finally get the rest of the seam matched up and closed.
28. The piece of wood I used was soft and crumbly, so I treated it with epoxy. Here I am pouring it on. I then used a brush to get every bit covered. The epoxy soaks into the soft porous wood and when it sets up, it's rock hard.
